Maderáhkka Pendant

Maderáhkka (the first Akka or mother) who receives the soul of a child from Radien (supreme deity) and gives it a body. This goddess is a fascinating figure within Sámi mythology, representing the intricate relationship between nature and the Sámi people and is often depicted as a powerful spirit associated with the land, fertility, and the cycle of life and death. Maderáhkka is the mother to the three goddesses Sáráhkku, Juksáhkku and Uksáhkku The Sámi are indigenous to the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula and have a rich cultural heritage that includes a deep reverence for nature and its elements. Maderáhkka embodies these themes, highlighting the importance of the earth and its resources in Sámi beliefs. The connection to the land is crucial, as the Sámi traditionally rely on reindeer herding, fishing, and gathering for their survival. Elk (eolh) Protection Pendant

In Norse mythology, the elk is a guardian acting like a shield, anticipating and defending against threats.

The elk is associated with the rune Algiz which is burnt into the back of this pendant. Algiz connects us to the gods, in particular Heimdall who is the protector of the Bifrost which links Miðgarðr (realm of the humans) and Ásgarðr (realm of the Æsir gods).

This pendants association with the Elk and the rune Algiz makes it an excellent pendant for journeying.

This roe deer antler pendent features the Viking Drakar ship for protection during travel, either physically or spiritually. The pendent is strung with waxed cord and fossilized coral which is good for grounding and bringing peace. All antler and bone is ethically sourced and foraged for and all items are made during ritual to honour the animal. Fossil coral is no way endangered or protected like living coral

Akka is a female spirit in Sámi mythology, who are thought to live under the Kota tents. This antler pendant depicts Maderáhkka (the first Akka or mother) who receives the soul of a child from Radien (supreme deity) and gives it a body. She is assisted by her three daughters: Sáráhkku "the protector of mothers" who lives under the fireplace, and is reponsible for placing the baby in the womb. Uksáhkká “the door goddess”, who lives under the doorstep and guards the home against all evil, she is involved in the childbirth. The third daughter is Júksáhkká "the bow woman" who takes care of the child after birth. plays a part in the creation of children and can transform an unborn child into a boy

Jǫrð Pendant (Sold)

Jörð, also referred to as Fjörgyn, is the personification of the Earth in Norse mythology, a comparison in Greek mythology would be Gaia. She is also thought to be the goddess Nerthus. This jötunn goddess is also the mother of Þórr (Thor) the sky god and lover of Óðinn. Jörð is wood burnt onto a 6.5cm piece of antler and has the Berkano rune on the rear of the pendant. Berkano is the rune of the womb and motherhood, and as an earth goddess she also represents fertility as she makes the seed in her womb grow, remaining throughout life and accepting when life is no more as we return to mother Earth. This Jörð pendant has a necklace made from leather with Bronzite and black moonstone beads.
